Yes, our Atlassian apps is 100% embedded into both tools. Your diagrams are seamlessly stored within Confluence or Jira, and are fully indexed and searchable using the respective tool search functions.

In Confluence, every modification to a diagram or whiteboard results in a new page revision, preserving each prior version for easy access in the page history. This ensures that you can always identify who made changes and when. This makes the compliance department happy.

Additionally, draw.io has a visual in-app version history. In Confluence, this allows you to restore a previous version of a diagram while leaving the text content of the Confluence page untouched. This means you can selectively undo changes to specific diagrams or whiteboards, without affecting the entire page.

On average, we release a new version of draw.io every two weeks, ensuring that our tool remains current and reliable.

You can view a more detailed version history using the following Atlassian Marketplace links:

In Atlassian Cloud, updates are installed automatically. However, for Atlassian Data Center, updates must be manually installed by your Administrator.

Our users primarily drive our product development, and feedback from the community is a significant factor in determining our roadmap. As proof of this, we use GitHub to publicly showcase feature requests and backlogs for Confluence Cloud and Data Center.

No, your data will remain intact.

When you embed a draw.io diagram in a Confluence page, an XML and PNG file are created. When you embed a draw.io diagram in a Jira issue, an XML file is created.

The XML file is the working version of the diagram/whiteboard created, and will be loaded whenever you access the diagram in the draw.io editor when you want to make further changes.

The PNG file is created when your diagram is saved. The diagram will then be displayed in the Confluence page or Jira issue it is stored in. Clicking on the diagram in Confluence/Jira view mode will make the diagram preview full screen.

Once embedded, the diagram can then be viewed and edited directly in the Confluence page. To view the full list of diagram files embedded in a Confluence page, head to More actions […] > Attachments > Files. Here, you will always find the current version of the PNG. To see when a diagram was last edited in Confluence, head to More actions […] > Page history.

If you cancel your draw.io subscription, the XML and the PNG files will be preserved. The latest version of the diagram will still be accessible in preview mode on the Confluence page or Jira issue it is embedded in, and you can download the XML file to edit it, for example, in other draw.io integrations.

Yes they are compatible, as all draw.io integrations use the same draw.io XML format. This allows you to share diagrams or whiteboards with external users, regardless of whether or not they use Atlassian tools themselves. External users will be able to edit the diagram or whiteboard using the standalone tools, and then easily send this back to you.

We’d love your support for draw.io! You can share your experience by leaving a review on the Atlassian Marketplace, which will help new users discover and benefit from your draw.io journey.

“Fantastic support team as others have mentioned, and incredible turn around times by the engineering team on updates and fixes. I’ve used draw.io across Server and Cloud Confluence systems; it’s been instrumental for UI/UX designs and, really, any diagrams in general. Highly recommend.”
